One of my favourite fish to spot out on the ocean, the mackerel carries great strength and power. This piece was inspired by the raw, earth tones of the Gulf of Carpentaria- deep blues, weathered greys, warm browns and soft burnt orange from the rocks - colours that feel both rugged and alive. The surrounding patterns are designed to compliment and ground the piece, echoing coastal textures and natural rhythms.
